The Community Service Society of New York organized this forum with a keynote and two panels including David R. Jones, Charles B. Rangel, Victor Bach, Judith Goldner, David Stoopler, Aixa Aleman-Diaz, Ricardo Morales, Linda Couch, David T. Rammler, Reginald Bowman, Ethel Velez, Damaris Reyes, Margarita Lopez, and others. The panel in Part 1 discusses the future of public housing. The panel in Part 2 discusses how to strengthen NYCHA resident involvement in public housing decisions. Reginald Bowman says, "here groups that don't normally meet are working together." Ethel Velez invokes respect for the largest group. Margarita Lopez speaks to how people belong, take responsibility, and create new empowering action. Victor Bach hopes aloud that New York's "sleeping giant" is waking up. This the sixth part of a plain document recording both vision and quite a bit of nitty gritty public housing information made in the palpably optimistic days of the early Obama presidency.
